DAC Will Host a "Disability State-of-the-State on Thursday, May 2nd

April 24, 2024

Hello Disability Community,

This year has brought many changes and developments in law, policy, and practice for our community, and the coming year will bring even more. On Thursday, 5/2/24, 5-7 pm, DAC will host a disability state-of-the-state for disability service delivery program/project leads and interested community members. It will be hybrid (330 Warren Hall/Zoom option).

While we will provide a zoom link for remote participation, the preferred, primary participation mode is in person. The space is accessible, wearing masks helps keep some of our community members safe, and masks will be provided. Captioning will be provided. If you require any additional accommodations in order to participate remotely or in person, please contact Donna Lee, donnal@berkeley.edu, as soon as possible.

We have invited the leads of disability service delivery programs, and student programs/projects, to attend and give a short 2-3 minute intro to their program or project, and answer questions from each other and the broader disability community during a 15 minute Q&A. Afterwards, we will have unstructured time to be in community together (light refreshment will be provided). In this way we hope to familiarize each other, and interested community members with information on community status, resources, programming and projects.

All presenters have been asked to provide DAC with a half page, no more, of information, links, upcoming events, or other info they wish to share with the community about their program or project. These will be compiled into a document for attendees.
