I wanted to share with you some exciting news of Rec Sport's brand new wheelchair basketball program. Please find some information below about our upcoming showcase (open to the public) as well as other opportunities to play and participate.
Wheelchair Basketball Showcase
I am thrilled to announce that on Friday, February 28th from 4-6 Berkeley Rec Sports will be hosting a wheelchair basketball showcase to let the campus know that wheelchair basketball has arrived at UCB. The showcase will take place in the Field House at the RSF (2301 Bancroft Ave), located on the ground floor at the back of the atrium. This event features special guests and will allow you to test your skills, try playing for the first time or earn prizes. No need to RSVP, please feel free to show up and you will be directed to the event. We will be promoting our brand new wheelchair basketball program which will offer open gym times and chairs for rent at the RSF (please find more information below).
Come out and support and help spread the word to your family, friends, and community. This event is open to the whole campus and local Berkeley community free of charge. Please see the attached flyer for details and feel free to post or distribute however you see fit.
Wheelchair Basketball
Berkeley Rec Sports just received our shipment of 10 brand spanking new Per4Max sports chairs and they are gorgeous. We now offer open gym times in the Field House from 3-5 PM every Friday. These hours will expand to include Sunday's from 3-5 following the Showcase on 2/28. Members of all abilities are invited to join in the fun. All equipment is provided. Open gym is for novice shooters or experts at the game. RSF membership or day pass is required to participate. Please email inclusive.rec@berkeley.edu for more information.
