Example Email

Hello Linguabee and Requester of ASL Sign Language Interpreter services,

I would like to submit the attached request for services. Thank you and have a great day!

(Requester) hello, your submission of this form confirms you are requesting American Sign Language (ASL) Communication Access services. If not, please notify me immediately. There is a 24-hour billable Cancellation policy and Interpreters are generally booked for services more than a week to two weeks in advance.

  1. Please review the attachment and make sure the event information you inserted into the Communications Access Request form is accurate.
  2. In-Person Events:
    1. Logistics: Once you receive information about the interpreters that will be assigned, confirm the ASL Interpreters can reach the site of the event and offer assistance if needed.
    2. Contact: Make sure the client and interpreters have the opportunity to have a warm handshake at the venue.
    3. Seating: Make sure the seating is arranged so that the client(s) can see the interpreters and be provided equal communications access.
    4. Recorded Events: Events that will display the interpreters that are video recorded for later public viewing add to the cost for the event.
  3. Materials included for display or reference in the meeting: send an agenda and list of speakers/recipients, introductions, speeches, provide text to be read or displayed, pre-recorded video content (must already be closed captioned).
  4. Multi-Day Events: When an event takes place over multiple days you will need to provide a schedule of events with an agenda that itemizes the date and time of the activities for which you are requesting services.
  5. Funding: Please visit Planning Accessible Events Section: Funding for Accommodations.

Good luck on your event and thank you for using our services to provide equal access for people with disabilities. Please send me any feedback you have about our process and services at your earliest convenience.

Best,

Derek
